- Does it roll and steer? A car that rolls loads faster.
- What's missing. Converter, wheels, doors, engine - the biggest single factor.
- Title situation. Have it, don't, or it's in another name.
Ready at pickup
- Photo ID
- Title, if you have one
- Keys, if they exist
- Personal items out of the boot, glovebox and under the seats
Check under the seats and in the spare wheel well. Things turn up in cars that have sat for years, and once it's on the truck it's gone.
Common questions
How long does the whole thing take?
The call takes a few minutes and the pickup about ten. Most people go from first call to cash the same day.
Cash or check?
Cash, handed to you at the vehicle before it goes on the truck.
Do I have to be there?
Someone with ID who can hand over keys and paperwork does. It doesn't have to be you if you arrange it in advance - just say so on the call.
What if it's blocked in or in a garage?
Tell us when you book so the right truck comes. Blocked-in cars, locked garages and tight alleys are routine.
Should I take the plates off?
Yes, and the driver will help. Keep them and cancel the registration with the Illinois Secretary of State so you're not billed for a car you no longer own.
